The Cathedrals Chart
These are the criterea on which all of the cathedrals of England and Wales have been assessed. Some aspects continuously change, so may not all be in date. Where possible, re-visits will re-assess any changes.
This is simply an attempt to assess the cathedrals for what they are, and not to cause offence to individual sites, although some of the criterea can be influenced by work at the site, to improve the experience/facilities for the visitor. The totals and percentage are arrived at through the idea of a fantasy "ideal" ecclesiastical site!
The totals are available in the league table.
If you are have Internet Explorer and MS Office, you should be able to access the working spreadsheet below. However, if not, and it doesn't always work anyway, there's a picture of the data from my spreadsheet below that. Only drawback is seeing which line belongs where, but I'll split it into bits in the future!
